Letter to the Fremont Community
I’m Lily Mei, a 2012 candidate for the Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) Board of Education. I have two children in Fremont public schools, and I love our community.
For the past three and a half years, I have had the great honor of being your voice on the FUSD Board of Education. This year I was also elected by my peers to serve as the Board President.
There are many issues, which motivate me to run for reelection. While Fremont’s current state of education funding is facing the most challenging times, I continue to collaborate with parents, employee groups, local business leaders, and general community to provide information access and transparency. I remain committed to providing the best quality of education possible for all Fremont students striving for innovative solutions in spite of fiscal cutbacks.
As your voice, I strive to educate our state leaders on the many needs of our diverse constituents and to advocate on how these dollars translate into life changing impacts in the lives of our students.
As a Board member, I continue my efforts to ensure that our district provides an educational experience our children will be proud to look back on as they grow on to have families of their own.
I promise to address the issues important to you. I welcome your phone calls, letters, and emails. I will listen to your suggestions and consider your advice. I will strive to bring a face and personal stories to the education funds needed when working with State and local legislators.
I live, breathe, and understand the concerns that face our children as I have visited schools each year and welcome the opportunity to continue to serve as the voice of the parents and our community.
Therefore, I am personally asking for your support to reelect me, Lily Mei, to the Fremont Unified School District Board of Education on November 6, 2012.
